A list of three positive numbers has an average of 6. What is the largest possible number in the list.
Thanks and can you please tell the solution.:)

Sagot :

the possible positive number that results to 6 is 3,2,1 sice when we add that three we will get 6 as the average.. and the largest number will be 3 since it is the highiest number...

let x be the smallest number
[x+(x+1)+(x+2)]/3 = 6
x+x+1+x+2=18
3x+3=18
3x=18-3
3x=15
x=5

so the three numbers are 5,6 and 7. the largest possible number is 7 :)
