what would have happened to the living thing if the color of water was black or red?

Sagot :

Life probably would not have been possible.

Life requires energy, and the sun is the obvious source, but some of that energy is deadly to organic molecules. Water was the perfect mediator. It allowed the light and infrared to penetrate, but not the UV. Life didn’t move out of the water onto land until it crafted a way to build a universal UV shield for the whole planet - the ozone layer.

But, if water had color, it would very much have prevented all but the top few inches to support the energy transfer that life requires. It is doubtful it could have started under those conditions.
