There two types of waves namely transverse waves and longitudinal waves. Transverse waves are the type of wave move perpendicular to the direction of propagation of the wave. Meanwhile, longitudinal waves are waves produced wherein the displacement of the medium is parallel to the direction of propagation of the wave.
