Simplifying expression is simply combining like terms either you subtact or add terms that have variable with same exponent like 5[tex] x^{2} [/tex] and 3[tex] x^{2} [/tex]. You can also multiply or divide like terms.
Example: Simplify 8x - 6 + 7x - 9
In this case, we will combine or add 8x and 7x since they are like terms. We will also combine -6 and -9 since they are also like terms.
In combining like terms, we will just add their coefficients and copy the variable.
Here, 8x + 7x = 15x and -6 + -9 = -15
Therefore, the simplified form of the expression 8x - 6 + 7x - 9 is 15x - 15
