The State of Matter
Matter comes in different forms or states.
The 3 Main States of Matter
Solid:
- Solid objects are usually hard and have their own shape. The particles in a solid are closely placed together.
Like example; stone, wood and metal
Liquid:
- Liquids flow freely and take the shape of their container. The particles in a liquid have spaces between them and they move slightly all the time.
Like example; water, softdrinks and juice
Gas:
- Gas does not have its own shape nor does it have volume. The particles in a gas move quickly because there is much space between them.
Like example; Nitrogen, Helium and Oxygen
