Coral reefs are one of the most beautiful and colorful natural resources on Earth. Our country is one of the countries with the most extensive coral systems in the world. Some of them can be found in Palawan, Sulu, and Southern Mindanao.
Coral reefs are important because:

2. It provides rich sources of marine food.
3. It serves as the natural habitats for many sea animals like sponges, mollusks, crustaceans, and echinoderms.
4. They are the breeding ground of fishes and other marine forms of life.
5. It provides important building materials such as calcium carbonate.
