A Day in the Country is a story written by Anton Chekhov. This story is all about the two orphans--Danilka and Fyokla, and the village cobbler, Terenty.
On that certain village where the two orphans lived came a strong typhoon. All the village people were urge to take refuge to a safer dwelling. Fyokla, a girl six, came running in the middle of the threatening storm. She was in a hurry looking for her Uncle Terenty. She must find him to rescue her brother Danilka who happened to have his hand shut in a small hole. Sobbing Fyokla found Terenty. She told Terenty about the trouble she and her brother is into. They hurriedly went to Danilka and rescued him.
