Solve 3x3 + 6x2 - 9x = 0 by factoring

Sagot :

1) Factor out 3x (GCF of each term) by dividing each term by 3x:
    3x (x² + 2x -3) = 0

2)  Factor (x² + 2x-3):
     (x + 3) (x-1)

3)  Solve for the roots of the equation:
     3x (x + 3) (x - 1) = 0

     3x = 0                      x + 3 = 0                x - 1 = 0
      x = 0                       x = -3                     x = 1

The roots are: 0, -3, and 1.
