the epicenter of earthquakes mostly lie on areas above asthenosphere where convection cell are found it is in this area where there greater temperature and pressure therefore it pushes materials from below to go up allowing movement to take place creating earthquakes this movement of materials pushes bedrocks and all solid material forming elevations which becomes mountain ranges and if the pressure is to great it will then produce an opening that allows formation of volcanoes when it accumulates fragments and solidified lava.
