To know if two or more fractions are equal to each other, you must you multiply or divide both the top and bottom by the same number, the fraction keeps it's value.
Example:
[tex] \frac{6}{8} and \frac{12}{16 } [/tex]
12 / 6 = 2
18 / 8 = 2
[tex] \frac{4}{8} and \frac{1}{2 } [/tex]
4 / 1 = 4
8 / 2 = 4
[tex] \frac{11}{22} and \frac{1}{2 } [/tex]
11 x 1 = 11
22 / 2 = 11
