who was the first astronomer to use a telescope

Sagot :

Although Galileo Galilei is generally credited with this, there were several other astronomers who used the telescope in the year or so after its invention, including Thomas Harriot in England who drew the first map of the Moon in 1609. I recently read an article in the RASC Journal about early observations with a reflecting telescope made in England, which Shakespeare makes reference to in Hamlet, written several years before Galileo.
