Odin already have more than enough wisdom to rule as a God and as an all-father to the men and women, but alas the Frost Giants who hated Odin and all the other Gods were waiting in the shadows to distraught and lay cold and ice to the humans.

Internal Conflict of Odin as he approached Mimir (the drinker of the mead of wisdom):

  • At first he is baffled as to what to offer
  • Mimir warned Odin for he might wish to unseen the things the water will show
  • He was a tad bit hesitant to give his eye

Odin did agree to offer his right eye as he thought that it will be a chance to protect his people. His right eye showed him great and beautiful things but it also showed sufferings and struggles of the men and women. And as he drank he saw many deaths including his own.
