The special feature of upper mantle is the Athenosphere. Through the Athenosphere, it influences the movement of the lithospheric plates that gives relatively low to plastic substance flow and also the convection to its plates and surface. We also have other parts of Earth like crust, inner core and outer core. And these have special features that are different to each other. Even they are different to each other, they complement one another.
