Sagot :
to add fractions with different denominators, just simply get its common denominator.
To add fractions with different denominators:
1.LCD-Least Common Denominator
For example:
[tex]\frac{1}{2}+\frac{3}{4}[/tex]
Their LCD is 4 because its the least common LCM they have. Then after finding the LCD, divide the LCD to the denominator and multiply to the numerator, then the denominator should be the LCD:
[tex]\frac{1}{2}=\frac{2}{4}[/tex]
[tex]\frac{3}{4}=\frac{3}{4}[/tex]
2. Add the fractions
Now that they have equal denominators, just add:
[tex]\frac{2}{4}+\frac{3}{4}=\frac{5}{4}[/tex]
Hope this helps ^-^
