In humans, the sex chromosomes determines the sex of an individual. Female has the same sex chromosomes XX and male has both X and Y chromosomes. When these two set of chromosomes fused together (by means of fertilization) an offspring will be formed. In the illustration, the fusion of XX x XY resulted to 2 possible offsprings, XX and XY.
