Orpheus and Eurydice
The story of Orpheus and Eurydice is one of the favorite myth in the Greek Mythology. The story is about a Orpheus the son of Apollo and Eurydice a nymph. They fell in love to each other. After that they got married. When, one day, a viper murdered Eurydice. Orpheus was very affected about what happened to Eurydice. Orpheus was beside himself. He took up his lyre and played and sang with such deep sorrow that the gods were moved, and they begged him to reverse what had been done which is to save his beloved love. Orpheus traveled to the afterlife to obtain the help of Hades and Persephone, because he wished to be reunited with Eurydice. Orpheus joyfully and quickly walked forward to look back at Eurydice, but it was too early because Eurydice was already in the cavern, a few steps from the ground. Orpheus reached out his hand to touch Eurydice, but he fell off into the gloom. The moment in which his faith wavers is his undoing.
