why metabolism is the site of cytoplasm?

 Cytoplasm refers to the entire content of the cell outside the nucleus excluding the cell membrane thus it consist of all the organelles and the cytosol which is the water or aqueous phase of cell in which organelles r suspended. so there are reaction taking place outside the organelles in the hydrated medium the cytosol as it contains different enzymes for different reactions like carbohydrate metabolism, lipid metabolism amino acid metabolism etc.
