Myth is a traditional story usually concerning some being or hero or event with or without a determinable basis of fact while legend is a story that tells what happened to a thing or event but legends are not real stories that really happened in the past and folktales are stories that are passed by the way of speaking it has no specific author or writer that's all I can say
