Answer:
Thoughts comes up with decision making which was affected by our emotions. We've touched upon this briefly in some my classes. Basically, emotions are a fundamental aspect of decision making. For two reasons. First, the emotional "centers" of the brain are highly integrated with the decision making parts of the brain, and it is impossible to make any decision without there being observable (fMRI, etc...) activity in the emotional parts of the brain. Secondly, we use emotions as a way to evaluate our past decisions and to predict the future outcome. In effect, the emotions we feel as a result of the decision are one of the more fundamental ways we evaluate our decisions. It is very possible to train ourselves to reduce the amount of emotional input we use during decisions, but I would say it would be impossible to completely rid ourselves of that aspect of decision making. It seems that the way we evaluate our decisions are too reliant on emotions to allow that. As for pros/cons? I would guess that, by taking out emotion, you would become better at making rational choices and, as a result, make less mistakes. But as a consequence, I'd also guess that your happiness from these decisions would probably be lower than if they were made with the input of emotion. I say that because we are not always the happiest choosing the most rational choice.

The process is that thoughts become actions and actions produce results. So the equation starts with the thoughts. So the key to success is to start with and control the thoughts that we have.
