How to graph this equation:
2x-5y>(or equal to)10

Sagot :

2x-5y≥10
If you want to graph this then lets try to use the method intercept method =)
Let x=0
-5y≥10
Divide both sides by -5
y≤2
(0,2)
Let y=0
2x≥10
Divide both sides by 2
x≥5
(5,0)

Now after you plot the points connect both of them with a line. Now comes the shading part, if you want to know what part you need to shade, you must think of a coordinate that is greater than 5 and less than 2. Lets try (6,0.4)

2x-5y≥10
2(6)-5(0.4)≥10
12-2≥10
10≥10

Therefore shade the bottom part of the line not the upper part. Hope this helps =)
