The law of conservation of mechanical energy
Energy is neither created nor destroyed, and is only transformed into different forms. The total energy of an object is always conserved. The law of conservation of mechanical energy says that the total mechanical energy of an object possesses is equal to the sum of its kinetic and potential energies.
