Essays uses words that are not to flowery because essays are meant to be understand by anyone who are reading them. Punctuation Marks are used if the sentences are questioning, requesting/ordering, used for strong expressions. (period.- request/ordering) (question mark - used for questioning) (exclamation point - used for expressing strong expressions like Stop!)
