A parallelogram has a base of 6 dm and a height of 5 dm. A circle has a radius of 5 dm. Which of the two has a smaller area? How much smaller?

Sagot :

The parallelogram's area is 30 because L x W is the formula of finding the area of the parallelogram so.... 6 x 5 = 30 square dm

and...

the circle's is 78.5 because pi x r x r is the formula of finding the area of the circle so... 3.14 x 5 x 5 = 78.5

so the smaller area of the two is the area of the parallelogram

and subtract the two areas to find how much smaller the area of the parallelogram is than circle

and the parallelogram is 48.5 smaller than the area of the circle
